For Tonight: Clear skies are expected tonight with low temperatures between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Saturday: Quite a bit of sunshine can be expected throughout Saturday with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday: Skies are expected to start out sunny to partly sunny, but clouds are expected to be on the increase during the afternoon as an area of low pressure develops off of the Mid-Atlantic coast. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday Night & Monday: An area of low pressure is expected to track from off of the Mid-Atlantic coast Sunday evening to near the Cape during Monday morning. This storm system is expected to bring all rain to the entire area from just before midnight Sunday until about midday on Monday. So, rain will overspread the entire area just before midnight on Sunday night and then continue through after midnight hours of Sunday night. This rain will continue through Monday morning before ending around midday on Monday. I do think that the rain will be heavy at times between about 3 am and 9 am Monday. Total rainfall amounts of between three quarters of an inch (0.75”) and one inch (1.00”) can be expected. Once the rain ends around midday Monday, skies should remain cloudy throughout Monday afternoon. Low temperatures Sunday night will be near 35 Degrees. High temperatures Monday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. For The Rest Of Next Week: A prolonged period of dry weather is expected during the middle and later parts of next week. It should be noted that a persistent northwesterly wind flow will usher in below average temperatures throughout next week. Tuesday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Wednesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Thursday is expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees. Next Friday will be sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: Cloudy skies with areas of fog and drizzle can be expected throughout the rest of this afternoon. Temperatures will remain between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight: Low clouds with areas of fog and drizzle are expected to continue throughout this evening with skies becoming partly cloudy after midnight. Low temperatures will be near 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Thanksgiving Day: An area of high pressure is expected to build into the area throughout the day. Lots of sunshine can be expected on Thanksgiving Day. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Friday: A cold front is expected to push through the area during the afternoon. While this looks like it’ll be a dry frontal passage, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of snow showers accompany the front, especially in the Berkshires and the Worcester Hills. Partly sunny skies are expected throughout Friday. In addition, there may be an isolated snow shower or two across the Berkshires and the Worcester Hills during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees during the morning with temperatures falling to between 35 and 40 Degrees during the afternoon. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Saturday: Lots of sunshine can be expected during the day on Saturday with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. Sunday Through Monday: An area of low pressure is expected to develop off of the Mid-Atlantic coast by Sunday evening and then track to the east-northeast passing to the southeast of the Cape during Monday morning. This storm system is expected to bring mostly all rain to the entire area during Sunday night and Monday morning. Sunday looks generally cloudy with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Rain is expected during Sunday night and Monday morning across much of the area. The exception may be over the northern Berkshires where the precipitation may start out as snow during Sunday evening, but even here the snow will change to rain by late Sunday night. The rain is expected to end by midday Monday with cloudy skies expected during Monday afternoon. Low temperatures Sunday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. High temperatures Monday will be near 45 Degrees. For The Rest Of Next Week: It looks like the rest of next week will be dry, but cold. In fact, it appears that we will end November and enter December with temperatures that are below average with high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s and low temperatures in the middle 20s.

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: An area of high pressure will continue to control the weather throughout the rest of this afternoon. This means that skies will be sunny with temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be North at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: That high pressure system will continue to control the weather throughout tonight. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy throughout tonight with low temperatures between 15 and 20 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday: Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout Tuesday morning. Increasing and thickening clouds are then expected during Tuesday afternoon as a low pressure system approaches us from the Great Lakes region. High temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and Southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Tuesday Night & Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to take shape off of the Mid-Atlantic coast during Tuesday night and head northeastward reaching the area around the Cape by Wednesday evening. This storm system looks to initially bring a decent burst of snow during Tuesday night that will accumulate 1 to 3 inches. Milder air then pushes into the area turning the snow to rain by Wednesday morning with a soaking rain then expected during the day Wednesday. Snow will overspread the entire area between about 8 and 10 pm Tuesday evening. This snow then looks to continue through and past midnight on Tuesday night across much of the area. It’s also possible that the snow could come down fairly hard at times during Tuesday night with slippery roads likely. As we get into the later parts of the night on Tuesday night, the snow looks to change to rain from south to north starting with the Pioneer Valley and areas near and south of the Mass Pike by 1-2 am or so. The changeover from snow to rain should reach the Route 2 corridor and the Berkshires by 4 to 5 am Wednesday morning and it will likely be raining everywhere by sunrise Wednesday. Snowfall amounts during Tuesday night may range from 1 to 2 inches across areas around and south of the Mass Pike and across the Connecticut River Valley to 2 to 3 inches or so across the Worcester Hills (especially the northern Worcester Hills) and across the Berkshires.

Turning to Wednesday, a wind-swept rain is expected throughout the day and the rain could be heavy at times. Given that the rain will occur on one of the busiest travel days of the year, slow-going traffic is likely with significant delays likely. Anyone flying in or out of any of the airports in Southern New England, expect flight delays due to rain and gusty winds. The rain is expected to come to an end by Wednesday evening with total rainfall amounts of around one inch expected. Temperatures on Tuesday night will start out between 30 and 35 Degrees during the evening and then rise to 35 to 40 Degrees towards morning. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds on Tuesday night will be Southeast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 to 35 mph. Winds on Wednesday will be East at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph in the morning and Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph in the afternoon. Thanksgiving Day: A sunny to partly sunny day is expected during Thanksgiving Day. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Thanksgiving Weekend Weather Outlook: Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. The weather for Saturday and Sunday needs to be watched closely as a low pressure system will be passing somewhere near or offshore of the south coast of New England. Whether we see rain or not will depend on the track of the low pressure system. For now, I’m going with cloudy skies with the possibility of some rain during Saturday with a mixture of sun and clouds for Sunday. High temperatures Saturday will be near 45 Degrees. High temperatures Sunday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.
