For Late This Afternoon Through Tonight: A frontal system now located over western New York State will push across northern New England during this evening before a new high pressure system builds into the area. Skies late this afternoon through this evening are expected to be cloudy. In addition, there is the possibility for a couple of snow flurries between 5 pm and 9 pm across the northern Worcester Hills and the Berkshires. No snow accumulation is expected. By late tonight, skies are expected to become partly cloudy. Temperatures late this afternoon will fall from the low 40s into the mid to upper 30s. Low temperatures later tonight will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds late this afternoon will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Winds tonight will be South at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and West at 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Tuesday: An area of high pressure will continue to build into the area during Tuesday. Skies on Tuesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 8 to 16 mph. Wednesday Through Thursday: High pressure will control the weather throughout Wednesday and Thursday. This means that both Wednesday and Thursday will feature plenty of sunshine. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. High temperatures Thursday will be between 52 and 57 Degrees. Friday Through Saturday: A coastal storm system combined with an eastward moving frontal boundary will bring the possibility of widespread rain to the entire area during all of Friday night and all of Saturday. Friday should start out partly sunny, but skies will become cloudy during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Rain looks quite possible throughout all of Friday night and all of Saturday. Low temperatures Friday night will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. High temperatures Saturday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Sunday: That coastal storm system will push into the Canadian Maritimes by Saturday night and Sunday with high pressure gradually moving into the area. Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees.

For Tonight: An area of high pressure is expected to build into the area tonight. Skies are expected to become clear to partly cloudy by or just after sunset today. Clear to partly cloudy skies are then expected throughout the overnight hours of tonight. Low temperatures will be near 35 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph. Saturday & Saturday Night: An area of high pressure will provide the entire area plenty of sunshine throughout the day Saturday. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Saturday night is expected to be clear with low temperatures near 25 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday Through Monday: High pressure will remain in control of the weather throughout both Sunday and Monday. Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday night is expected to feature clear to partly cloudy skies with low temperatures near 25 Degrees. Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected on Monday with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. Monday Night & Tuesday: A frontal system is expected to push through the region late Monday night into Tuesday morning. It appears that some scattered rain and snow showers can be expected across the area from about midnight Monday night right through Tuesday morning. Little or no snow accumulation is anticipated with any of the snow showers. Once that front moves through, expect partly sunny skies for Tuesday afternoon. Low temperatures Monday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Wednesday Through Next Friday: Another stretch of dry weather looks likely for the middle and later parts of next week as a new high pressure system moves across the area. Wednesday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures between 55 and 60 Degrees. Turning to next Friday, while skies should be generally partly sunny during the day, a frontal system will be approaching from the west. At this point, it appears that this front will move through during next Friday night and next Saturday bringing with it the potential for widespread rain showers next Friday night and next Saturday. High temperatures next Friday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

For This Afternoon: A northwesterly wind flow will continue to produce chilly weather and windy conditions throughout this afternoon. Skies will be sunny with temperatures of between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph and this will lead to wind chill temperatures in the 30s. Tonight & Thursday: An area of low pressure is expected to track from the Great Lakes region tonight to across central New England during the day on Thursday. Precipitation out ahead of this low pressure system will overspread the region between about 3 am and 7 am Thursday morning. This precipitation is expected to run into an air mass that has surface temperatures near freezing, especially across the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires. One item that’s changed is that it appears precipitation may begin across areas near and north of Route 2 first beginning about 3 am Thursday morning and then spread across the rest of Western and Central Mass towards mid-morning Thursday. This is important because temperatures may be above freezing across most areas by the time precipitation begins on Thursday morning. The exception to this will be across areas near and north of Route 2 where several hours of freezing rain looks to occur from about 3 am Thursday to about late morning Thursday. Even though the precipitation is expected to be light, it’ll be more than enough to produce some icy roads across the northern Worcester Hills and areas near and north of Route 2 for the Thursday morning commute. Precipitation will change to rain everywhere by early afternoon Thursday with periods of rain continuing until late Thursday afternoon when all rain will come to an end. Here Is A More Detailed Breakdown Of What I’m Thinking: For The Northern Worcester Hills & Areas Near & North Of Route 2: Freezing rain will begin by about 3 am Thursday morning. This freezing rain across the northern Worcester Hills and across areas near and north of Route 2 is expected to continue through the Thursday morning and right up into the mid and late morning hours of Thursday. Freezing rain is expected to change to periods of rain around midday Thursday with the periods of rain continuing through the afternoon hours. Rain will end by late afternoon Thursday. Temperatures will start out around the 30-32 Degree range late tonight and Thursday morning and then warm up to around 40 Degrees by afternoon. Across The Rest Of Western & Central Mass, Including The Springfield Metro & Worcester Metro & All Areas Near The Mass Pike: Rain looks to begin by about 9-10 am Thursday morning. While it appears that the precipitation will be all rain, it’s possible that some sleet or snow could mix in with the rain at first, especially in some of the more hilly terrain. Periods of rain then looks to continue through Thursday afternoon before coming to an end by late afternoon Thursday. Temperatures will initially start out around the 32 to 35 Degree range around sunrise Thursday morning and then warm up to between 40 to 45 Degrees by afternoon.
