For Tonight: A weak weather disturbance is expected to approach the region later tonight. This means that skies will be partly cloudy throughout tonight and there may be an isolated shower or two very late tonight. Low temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday: That weak weather disturbance will move away from the area during Tuesday morning. During the afternoon, the combination of solar heating and colder air aloft will lead to an unstable air mass across the region. This all means that any leftover isolated showers will end early in the day with partly sunny skies expected during the rest of the morning. During Tuesday afternoon, a mixture of some sunshine and lots of cumulus clouds can be expected. In addition, a very isolated shower or two is possible during the late afternoon hours. High temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Wednesday Through Friday: We should generally remain in a west to northwest upper level wind flow right through the end of this week. Wednesday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 65 Degrees. Thursday will feature a mixture of some sun and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 60 Degrees. Weekend Weather Forecast Looks WET!!: Unfortunately it looks like another weekend washout looks likely as an area of low pressure tracks near or right over Southern New England. In addition to this, it’s possible that this could be a wind-swept rain as that low pressure system strengthens as it moves through. Current indications point towards rain moving in during Saturday morning with the rain continuing through all of Saturday afternoon, all of Saturday night and possibly all day Sunday. In addition to the rain, it appears that East to Northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph on Saturday will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph by late Saturday night. These easterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected to continue through all day Sunday. At this point, it appears that widespread rain totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible across the entire area. Temperatures this weekend will only be in the low to mid 50s. This combined with the rain and wind will lead to a cold, raw and wet weekend. Thank You: As always, I thank you for your continued support. For The Rest Of This Afternoon: All of Central Mass and areas of Western Mass outside of the Berkshires will remain in-between the widespread showers associated with an eastward moving cold front and heavy rain associated with what’s left of Tropical Storm Philippe. This means that cloudy skies with a few hit or miss showers look likely throughout the rest of this afternoon. Much more widespread showers should overspread Western Mass by late this afternoon with these widespread encroaching on the western Worcester Hills by sunset today. Temperatures the rest of this afternoon will be between 65 and 70 Degrees with humid conditions. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight: A strong cold front is expected to push its way across the region this evening bringing with it widespread showers with locally heavy rainfall across all of Western and Central Mass throughout the first half of tonight. These showers should come to an end between midnight and 2 am across Western Mass and then come to an end between 1 am and 3 am across Central Mass. Skies then will clear out late tonight with a drastic change in the air mass from humid conditions to cool and very dry conditions after midnight tonight. Low temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be North at 10 to 20 mph before midnight and West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph after midnight. Sunday & Sunday Night: I should be able to finally pull out our air conditioners on Sunday as a cool, windy and very comfortable air mass continues to rush into the region. In fact, I think it’s quite safe for you to shut off your A/C units for the season. Skies on Sunday will start out sunny to partly sunny with a mixture of sunshine and clouds expected during the afternoon. A hit or miss isolated shower is possible during the afternoon, especially in the Berkshires and across the Worcester Hills. It will also be windy on Sunday. High temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 to 40 mph. Skies should become clear to partly cloudy during Sunday evening with clear skies expected after midnight Sunday night. Low temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph. Monday: Skies will start out sunny during Monday with an increase in clouds expected by late in the day. High temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Tuesday: A piece of atmospheric energy rotating around a big upper level low pressure system located near Hudson Bay will lead to the development of a weak low pressure system that tracks near the region during the day on Tuesday. This means that cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday with some scattered showers possible. High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Wednesday & Thursday: That big upper level low pressure system over southern Canada should gradually weaken by the middle part of next week. This means that while Wednesday and Thursday both should have a mixture of sunshine and clouds during the day, it should stay dry. High temperatures on both Wednesday and Thursday will be between 60 and 65 Degrees.

Are You A: - Town/City Department Head (DPW Director, Fire Chief, Police Chief, Town Manager, etc.) - Property Management Company Owner - Contractor that does outdoor work for your clients. - Construction company owner - A business owner that needs to make closing decisions based on weather conditions. - Someone that heavily relies on the weather & needs specific & very localized weather guidance & weather updates. Contact me at contact@route20weather.com for more information & prices, so that you can hire me as your own "personalized" meteorologist. Our current clients include 5 local Central Mass towns and 2 local Central Mass businesses. They are currently receiving frequent updates on every storm that affects our area. I know you're going to say, why should we pay you for a weather forecast? I have my phone app or I can look on the internet for the latest weather forecasts. Well I can tell you that the weather app on your smart phone or tablet is going to be wrong 99 percent of the time because it's based on only one weather model. As for the local news stations - Their forecasts are usually too generalized & seem to be focused either inside the 495 corridor or geared more towards the Springfield-Hartford Metro. Their forecasts, oftentimes, are not geared towards the hilltowns of Central and Western Mass where the weather can be much, much different than MetroWest or Boston, Springfield & Hartford. This is why you need someone that will always be in your corner and is ALWAYS looking at the weather. Let me help you make those decisions based on the latest weather information. If you're interested, contact me at contact@route20weather.com Finally, if you're "on the fence" still on hiring me for weather consulting, consider that our past forecasts for clients have given them the opportunity to prepare earlier than others and not have to rush staffing and equipment. Also, the feedback from my consulting work has been extremely positive. One comment I received last winter from a local Central Mass town DPW director was as follows, “Your forecasts have been very good and extremely helpful. Spot on a few weeks ago with the timing of the potential freeze. We typically do not work the Friday before Monday holidays so being able to send a group message for my crew to be in a certain time so we can be on the roads treating before the ice came was fantastic. Overtime can be very costly for the residents . Again thanks for everything.” Interested? Contact me at contact@route20weather.com with questions and for more information.
