For This Afternoon: Some high cirrus clouds will cause a filtered look to the sunshine that’s expected throughout this afternoon. Temperatures will be around 75 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: A southerly wind flow ahead of an eastward moving cold front will be in place across the region tonight.
This means that there will be varying amounts of cloud cover throughout the night tonight. Low temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Friday: A cold front is expected to move first through Western Mass during the late morning and early afternoon hours and then push through Central Mass during the early and mid-afternoon hours. This front will bring with it some fairly widespread showers and a few thunderstorms as it moves through. While I am not expecting severe weather, there is the possibility that a couple of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side.
Skies throughout the day on Friday will be cloudy, although don’t be surprised to see some peeks of sunshine from time to time.
Fairly widespread showers can be expected first across Western Mass as early as mid and late morning. These showers, along with a few thunderstorms are then expected to overspread Central Mass by early afternoon.
The shower and thunderstorm activity is then expected to last until about mid-afternoon across Western Mass and last until about early evening across Central Mass. While most of the thunderstorms that do occur will be pretty “garden variety”, there is the possibility that a couple of the storms could be on the strong side and be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 45 mph and small hail.
High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
This Weekend: Once that front moves through, it’ll usher in an extended stretch of dry weather that lasts not only through this Labor Day weekend, but right through much of next week. In fact, the next chance for any sort of rain may not occur until late next week.
