1:45 am Tuesday Morning Weather Update For Western & Central Mass

- 1 min read
And here comes the strong cold front, which is now pushing through the Berkshires & will rapidly move across Western and Central Mass over the next 60-90 minutes or so.
So, between now and about 3 am or so, expect heavy rain and some very strong winds. South winds are likely to gust up to 50-65 mph and this will lead to the potential for downed trees and power lines causing power outages across the area.
Conditions will improve by about 4 am with the rain rapidly ending & the winds shifting from a southerly direction to a westerly direction and decreasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Additionally, temperatures will rapidly fall from after 3 am through dawn from the upper 50s to near 60 Degrees into the 40s.
Rob, thanks so much for this 1:45 update on the storm. The wind was so wild in Princeton I came downstairs and cuddled with my dog on the couch who was terrified of the roar of the storm. I checked my phone and you had just posted an update; it was such a comfort to read your prediction and have an idea of when the worst of the front would pass. I sincerely appreciate your careful assessment and prediction of weather events. This one was a contender. I wish I could support your efforts monetarily, but that is not possible at this time. Please know that your work is valued immensely.
