The bulk of our heavy rain and strong winds have arrived across Western & Central Mass as of the time of this post.
Heavy rain & a few embedded thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the rest of the night tonight.
The rain looks to come to an end between about 5 am and 7 am Tuesday morning.
The heavy rain throughout the rest of tonight will be enough to cause some flood concerns along the rivers and streams across the area. Additionally, poor drainage and urban street flooding is quite likely throughout tonight.
Temperatures through midnight will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Temperatures are then expected to fall into the 40s during the after midnight hours.
It will be very windy throughout the rest of tonight. I expect that there will be South winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 to 60 mph throughout much of the night tonight.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I have concerns that there will be a period where winds will gust to 60 mph & possibly as high as 65 mph between about midnight and 3 am. This period of potentially very strong winds could lead to downed trees and power lines causing scattered power outages. Something to definitely keep in mind.
The winds will then shift into a Southwesterly direction and decrease to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30-40 mph by sunrise Tuesday morning.
