Some Scattered Thunderstorms Are Expected Late Tuesday Afternoon & Tuesday Evening Across Western & Central Mass & A Couple Of The Thunderstorms Could Be On The Strong Side

For This Afternoon: Lots of clouds with perhaps some peeks of sunshine from time to time can be expected during this afternoon. Temperatures will be near 70 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies are expected during tonight. Low temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday: Summer like temperatures are expected to invade the region during Tuesday as a southwesterly wind flow sets up across the region.

Skies during the day on Tuesday will start out sunny to partly sunny during the morning with a mixture of sunshine and clouds expected during the afternoon.

In addition, we are going to have to watch for some scattered thunderstorms to cross the region during late Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening as the warm air mass leads to an unstable atmosphere.

Because of this, I think that we may have a cluster of scattered thunderstorms push west to east across the region between about 4-5 pm and about 8-9 pm. It should be noted that a couple of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side and be capable of producing some very gusty winds. This is something that I’ll be keeping close tabs on & I’ll keep you updated.

High temperatures Tuesday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 8 to 16 mph.

Wednesday: While Wednesday looks to be very summer like in terms of temperatures, there is some uncertainty in this across Central Mass. What we’re going to have to keep an eye on is a backdoor cold front that could try to push southwestward. Some weather forecast guidance keeps this front to our northeast, which would lead to temperatures climbing into the lower to mid 80s across the entire area. Other weather forecast guidance, however, forecasts this backdoor cold front to push southwestward across all of Central Mass. Should this occur, it would lead to temperatures barely reaching 70 Degrees across Central Mass, but temperatures across Western Mass would still make it into the low to mid 80s across Western Mass.

So, for now, I’m going to go with a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day on Wednesday with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Finally, there could be a round of evening thunderstorms across the entire area on Wednesday & a couple of these storms may be on the strong side with gusty winds.

Thursday: Generally cloudy skies are expected on Thursday & there will be some scattered showers around from time to time. High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.

Friday: A partly sunny day is expected on Friday with high temperatures near 75 Degrees.
