Snow Tonight & Wednesday Morning Will Turn Into A Bit Of Light Freezing Rain Wednesday Afternoon Across Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of This Afternoon Through Tonight: Light snow is expected to continue across the entire area throughout the rest of this afternoon right through all of tonight. It should be noted that the snow intensity may be moderate at times during the overnight hours of tonight.

This steady snow is expected to come to an end just before sunrise Wednesday morning.

Wednesday: Intermittent periods of light snow and sleet can be expected during the morning that will become intermittent periods of light freezing rain and sleet during the early and middle parts of the afternoon.

A steady rain is expected to overspread the entire area by late afternoon. This is something that will need to be watched extremely closely. The reason why is because if temperatures are slow to rise to above freezing, the precipitation may end up being freezing rain instead of rain during the height of the Wednesday afternoon commute. Something to keep an eye for sure!!

Wednesday Night: Any leftover freezing rain will change to rain during the evening with steady rain continuing through the overnight hours of Wednesday night.

Thursday Through Friday: On and off rain is expected throughout Thursday, Thursday night and Friday. Rainfall amounts are not expected to be excessive at all and should be limited to around one-half of an inch.

Total Snowfall Amounts Tonight Through Wednesday Morning: 1 to 2 inches of snow can be expected across most areas of Western and Central Mass. The exception looks to be across the Berkshires and across the northern Worcester Hills & Route 2 corridor where 2 to 3 inches of snow can be expected.

As For Ice Accumulations Wednesday Afternoon: A very light glaze of ice is possible during late Wednesday morning into Wednesday afternoon.

Slippery road conditions can be expected throughout tonight and Wednesday, first due to the snow accumulations tonight into Wednesday morning and then due to some light freezing rain during Wednesday afternoon.
