Another Cold Night Is Expected Across Western & Central Mass; This Will Be Followed By Gradually Milder Temperatures For Thursday & Friday (Posted Wednesday Evening 3/18/2026)

For Tonight & Thursday: Another cold night is expected across the entire area as a high pressure system controls the weather. Skies start out clear this evening, but will become partly cloudy by after midnight tonight. Low temperatures will be near 15 Degrees. Winds will be South at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Winds South at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: That high pressure system will continue to control the weather during the day on Friday.

This means that skies will start out sunny during Friday morning, but there will be an increase in clouds during Friday afternoon. High temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday Night & Saturday: A frontal system is expected to push through the area during Friday night into the first part of Saturday morning.

Skies will be cloudy on Friday night and there will be some widespread rain showers around. Low temperatures will be around 35 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Scattered leftover morning rain showers Saturday will end by late morning. Skies during Saturday afternoon will be cloudy. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.

Sunday: Cloudy skies are expected during the day on Sunday. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees.

Sunday Night & Monday: Yet another frontal system is expected to cross the region late Sunday night into Monday. While the temperatures look quite mild out ahead of this front, they become quite cold right behind the front. Because of this, we will need to keep tabs on the possibility of rain showers changing to snow showers right after the frontal passage. In fact, some of the weather forecast guidance have hinted at some accumulation of snow during Monday morning. While I’m not ruling out the possibility of some snow accumulation Monday morning, I’m not buying into it being anything substantial. That being said, it is something that I’m going to keep an eye on, just in case.

Sunday night looks cloudy & there may be some widespread rain showers during the after midnight hours. Low temperatures will be near 35 Degrees.

Turning to Monday, widespread rain showers may change to widespread snow showers during the morning. Snow showers then end by Monday afternoon. For now, it appears that any snow accumulation that does occur should be on the light side. Temperatures during Monday will remain in the low to middle 30s.
