This Afternoon: Any leftover light snow and light rain will come to an end by mid-afternoon. Skies are then expected to remain cloudy for the late afternoon hours. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Tonight:Cloudy skies this evening will give way to clearing skies after midnight tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 20 and 25 Degrees.
Saturday: A partly sunny, but windy day is expected on Saturday with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. West winds are expected to gust up to 35 to 40 mph at times.
Snow Is Likely On Sunday: It is looking increasingly more likely that there will be enough snow to plow and snow blow on Sunday, especially south of the Mass Pike.
An area of low pressure is expected to form near the North Carolina coast on Sunday morning and race northeastward reaching Atlantic Canada by midnight Sunday night. Over the past 24 hours, weather forecast guidance has shifted the forecast track of this storm to the west. This means that the heavier snowfall with this storm has also shifted westward. With that said, the uncertainty with this storm’s track remains uncertain, however, I think the fact that the weather feature that produces this storm is now moving onto the West Coast of the United States will help to resolve the certainty & by tomorrow we should have a much better idea about the impacts of this storm.
Here Are My Latest Thoughts: Snow will begin across Western and Central Mass by about 8-9 am Sunday morning and then continue throughout the day on Sunday. In addition, there is expected to be some strong dynamics with this storm, therefore, I think a period of heavy snow looks likely, especially south of the Mass Pike during Sunday afternoon. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible.
The snow with this storm is expected to come to an end early Sunday evening.
My Forecast Snowfall Map For This Storm Is Attached To This Post. This is expected to be a light and fluffy snow that should be pretty easy to shovel.
I want to emphasize that this forecast is still pretty uncertain and these snowfall amounts are likely to change over the next day or so.
