For The Rest Of This Afternoon: A slow moving frontal system is expected to push through the area later this afternoon into this evening. Unfortunately, this front will not bring any relief to the humid weather and in fact will usher in even hotter temperatures from Tuesday through Friday.
Scattered thunderstorms are currently developing over the Berkshires into parts of the I-91 corridor at the time of this post. These scattered thunderstorms will slowly push their way eastward into Central Mass over the next 2-3 hours or so. The environment these thunderstorms will be moving through will be very favorable for the production of torrential downpours and localized flash flooding. One other factor that will enhance the ability of thunderstorms to produce localized flash flooding is that the storms will be very slow moving and thus they will sit over areas for an extended period of time.
It will be warm and quite humid during the rest of this afternoon with temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees and dew point temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Slow moving scattered thunderstorms should persist this evening & any thunderstorms will pose a risk of producing localized flash flooding.
The overnight hours of tonight will be cloudy and it will be humid. Low temperatures will be near 70 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: An extended stretch of hot and humid weather is expected beginning on Tuesday and lasting through Friday.
Skies on Tuesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 90 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be around 70 Degrees. Winds will be West to Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday Through Friday: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday all look hot and humid, however, Wednesday looks to be the hottest day of this week.
Wednesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 90 and 95 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday looks partly sunny and there is the possibility of some scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. High temperatures will be around 90 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.
Friday also looks partly sunny and there will be some scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. High temperatures will be between 85 and 90 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.
