Evening Thunderstorms Are Expected Across Western & Central Mass

Even though this morning's showers utterly failed to produce really any rainfall, we do have a line of showers and thunderstorms that are now crossing the I-87 corridor in eastern New York State.

It looks likely that these showers and thunderstorms will enter far Western Mass around 7 pm and then reach the I-91 corridor of Western Mass by about the 7:30-8 pm time frame. Heavy rain, gusty winds of up to 40-50 mph and occasional lightning can be expected with these thunderstorms.

The showers and thunderstorms are then expected to continue pushing eastward reaching far western parts of Worcester County and the I-84 corridor around 8-8:30 pm and then reach areas including the Worcester Metro, the I-190 and the I-395 corridors around 8:30-9 pm or so. Heavy downpours, gusty winds of up to 30-40 mph and occasional lightning are expected with these thunderstorms.

The showers and thunderstorms are then anticipated to continue until about 10-11 pm over Western Mass and 11 pm to midnight across Central Mass when they will come to an end.
