A Few Thunderstorms Are Expected This Afternoon Across Western & Central Mass

A few thunderstorms still look likely across the entire area this afternoon & one or two of the thunderstorms may be on the strong to severe side.

Radar and satellite imagery at the time of this posting indicated that towering cumulus clouds and a thunderstorm or two have formed over eastern New York State.

I expect a few thunderstorms to make their way from west to east across the entire area starting around the 12-1 pm time frame and lasting until about 5 pm today.

For Western Mass, any thunderstorms look to occur from about midday until about 3-4 pm.

For Central Mass, any thunderstorms are anticipated to occur from about 1-2 pm until about 5 pm.

As I mentioned, it's possible that a couple of the thunderstorms may be on the strong to severe side and be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 45-60 mph, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.
