A line of strong to severe thunderstorms are now making their way across the Berkshires at the time of this post.

It is expected that these thunderstorms will make it into the upper Pioneer Valley within the next 30 minutes or so & then push into the middle and lower Pioneer Valley, including the Springfield Metro by about midnight. These thunderstorms are expected to be strong & be capable of producing upwards of 50 mph wind gusts, torrential downpours & very frequent lightning.

This line of strong thunderstorms is then expected to progress eastward reaching northern parts of Worcester County by around midnight. Central parts of Worcester County, including the Worcester Metro will be affected by these thunderstorms during the 12:30 am to 1:30 am hour. Southern Worcester County, including the Mass Pike, I-84, I-395 and Route 146 will be impacted by these thunderstorms during the 1 am to 2 am hour. These thunderstorms are very likely to be strong & be capable of producing up to 50 mph wind gusts, torrential downpours and very frequent lightning.

If that wasn't enough, other thunderstorms have developed near Belchertown, Palmer and West Brookfield. These thunderstorms will likely affect central and parts of southern Worcester County, mostly areas near and just north of the Mass Pike (this includes the Worcester Metro) over the next hour or so. These thunderstorms will produce gusty winds, heavy downpours and frequent lightning.

More updates will be sent out as needed.
