For The Rest Of This Afternoon & Tonight: A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected throughout the rest of this afternoon. Temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at around 10 mph.
Partly cloudy skies are expected this evening with cloudy skies expected during the after midnight hours of tonight. Low temperatures will be around 25 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at around 10 mph.
Some Snow Is Expected During The Day Sunday: An Arctic cold front is expected to sweep across the area during the day on Sunday. This front will bring with it some snow that begins during the mid and late morning hours of Sunday and lasts until about mid to late afternoon when it’ll end.
So, I expect light snow to overspread the entire area from west to east during the mid and late morning hours of Sunday. This light snow is expected to continue into Sunday afternoon before it comes to an end by the mid and late afternoon hours of Sunday.
This does not look to be a big deal in terms of snow accumulations as I expect around one inch of snow or so.
High temperatures will be near 35 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday Night & Monday: An Arctic air mass will be in place across the area throughout Sunday night & Monday.
Clear skies are expected on Sunday night with low temperatures between 5 and 10 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Skies during the day on Monday will be sunny with high temperatures only between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at around 10 mph.
A Storm May Bring Snow, Ice & Rain During Tuesday Afternoon & Tuesday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to track northeastward from the Ohio Valley as we get into Tuesday. This low pressure system looks to track right over Southern New England late Tuesday and Tuesday night. Out ahead of the low pressure system will be some retreating Arctic air. Because of this, I do think that the precipitation will probably start as snow during Tuesday afternoon and then gradually transition into freezing rain and then rain during Tuesday night. The rain and freezing rain looks to come to an end by just before dawn Wednesday morning.
All-in-all, it’s probably going to be a mess & roads will likely be slick due to the combination of snow to start Tuesday afternoon & then the change to ice during Tuesday night.
As for possible amounts of snow and ice – Right now, the snow during Tuesday afternoon doesn’t look to be a big deal & amounts of 1 to 3 inches seem most possible. Ice amounts Tuesday night could end up amounting to one tenth (0.10”) to two tenths of an inch (0.20”).
Because of all of this, please be aware that slick conditions and slow going look quite possible on roads during Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night.
High temperatures Tuesday will be in the low to mid 30s. Temperatures Tuesday night will remain steady in the low to mid 30s. OUR BUSY WINTER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TRUDGING ON WITH THE EXPECTATION OF SNOW TOMORROW & SNOW, ICE & RAIN ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON & TUESDAY NIGHT. NO STOP FOR THIS WEARY METEOROLOGIST, THAT'S FOR SURE!!
