Snow Showers & Maybe A Snow Squall Possible Late Sunday Afternoon & Sunday Evening

For This Afternoon: An area of high pressure will control the weather through this afternoon with sunny skies expected. High temperatures this afternoon will be near 30 Degrees. Winds this afternoon will be west at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight: Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected for tonight with low temperatures near 15 Degrees. Winds tonight will be west at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday: I’m going to be keeping close tabs on an Arctic cold front that’s expected to push through the area during the late afternoon and evening hours of Sunday. This Arctic front has the potential to bring some snow shower activity and the possibility for a snow squall or two between about 4 pm and 11 pm Sunday. This means that a large part of Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures around 40 Degrees. Some scattered snow shower activity out ahead of the Arctic cold front is expected to enter far northwestern Mass by about 3-4 pm Sunday. It appears that this first round of snow showers should affect mostly Western Mass through 5 pm. A second round of scattered snow showers associated with the Arctic cold front is forecast to push from north to south across Western and Central Mass between 6 pm and 8 pm Sunday. A final third round of scattered snow shower activity is forecast to push from north to south across the region between 9 pm and 11 pm Sunday. The snow squall chances look quite low and certainly the parameters look nothing like they did with last weekend’s event. That said, a very isolated snow squall or two is certainly possible, especially across the northern Worcester Hills early Sunday evening. It will be windy on Sunday and Sunday evening with west winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 to 40 mph. Monday: Monday looks like it’ll be a cold and windy day even though there will be plenty of sunshine around. High temperatures Monday will be near 25 Degrees. Winds on Monday will be northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tuesday Through Friday: Tuesday is expected to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. A frontal system is expected to push through the area on Tuesday night bringing with it a period of very light snow between about midnight Tuesday night and sunrise Wednesday morning. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be near 25 Degrees. Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees. Thursday and Friday both look partly sunny. High temperatures on both Thursday and Friday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees.
