For Tonight: A strong cold front now located over the Ohio Valley is expected to push eastward tonight reaching southern New England by Thursday morning.
Widespread showers out ahead of this front will overspread the entire area during this evening. These widespread showers are then expected to continue throughout the overnight hours of tonight. Additionally, a thunderstorm or two is a possibility between about 9 pm and 3 am.
Low temperatures tonight will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Thursday: That strong cold front will push through the area during Thursday morning.
Scattered rain showers can be expected throughout Thursday morning as temperatures fall from the low 40s and into the upper 30s.
We are going to have to watch for some snow showers that might occur on the backside of that strong cold front. These snow showers may occur across the region during the mid and late afternoon hours of Thursday into early Thursday evening. If we do see snow showers, they may lead to a dusting to perhaps up to one inch of snow accumulation. Any snow that does accumulate will do so on grassy and other non pavement surfaces.
Temperatures during Thursday afternoon will fall into the low to mid 30s.
Winds on Thursday will be West at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Friday Through Saturday: Skies are expected to start out sunny to partly sunny during Friday morning, but will become cloudy during Friday afternoon. High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
A frontal system is expected to move across northern New England during Friday night into Saturday morning. I do think that a majority of the snow shower activity with this front will stay just to our north. That said, a few isolated snow showers are a possibility during Friday evening, especially across the northern Worcester Hills. Low temperatures Friday night will be between 25 and 30 Degrees.
Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.
Sunday: Partly sunny skies are expected throughout the day on Sunday. High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.
Heavy Rain Possible Sunday Night Into Monday: A strong cold front is expected to push through the region during the day on Monday. This front will bring with it widespread showers with locally heavy rainfall and perhaps a couple of thunderstorms starting late Sunday night and continuing through the day on Monday. Rainfall totals of around one inch or so seems possible across the entire area. This could lead to some river and stream flood issues during the first half of next week, especially given that the rivers and streams are already rising due to snow melt. This is something that’ll need to be watched.
Low temperatures Sunday night will be around 40 Degrees. High temperatures Monday will be around 55 Degrees.
