Rain Is Expected Tonight With Cool Temperatures & Damp Conditions Expected Thursday Across Western & Central Mass (Posted Midday Wednesday 4/1/2026)

For This Afternoon & Tonight: A warm afternoon is expected across the entire area under generally cloudy skies. A cold front is expected to sink southwestward across the region by late this afternoon and this evening. This cold front will produce some shower activity across mostly Central Mass during late this afternoon and this evening. Temperatures during this afternoon will be around 70 Degrees. Winds will be North at around 10 mph.

A wave of low pressure is expected to track along this frontal boundary during tonight. This low pressure system will bring with it a round of rain to the entire area during tonight. It appears that rain will begin across the area during this evening. The rain is then expected to continue through the after midnight hours of tonight right through sunrise Thursday morning. Low temperatures tonight will be around 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at around 10 mph.

Thursday: That frontal boundary is expected to be located just to our south during the day on Thursday. This will lead to a cool and damp day across the entire area.

Rain is expected throughout all of Thursday morning. In addition, some sleet will mix in with the rain at times during Thursday morning. The rain is expected to come to an end around midday Thursday.

Cloudy skies are expected during Thursday afternoon and there may be some scattered rain showers around.

High temperatures Thursday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be East to Northeast at around 10 mph.

Friday Through Sunday: An area of high pressure will be set up off of the East Coast of the US from Friday through Sunday. This will lead to a southwesterly wind flow to push in some warmer temperatures into the area.

Friday looks cloudy with high temperatures between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Saturday is expected to be cloudy with high temperatures near 65 Degrees.

A cold front is expected to push through the area during the day on Sunday. Sunday looks to be a cloudy day & there will be showers around throughout the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures will be around 60 Degrees.

Monday & Tuesday: A drier and cooler air mass will set up across the region during the early part of next week.

Monday looks cloudy with high temperatures around 50 Degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
