For Tonight: A weak high pressure system will control the weather throughout tonight. This will lead to clear skies across the entire area with low temperatures near 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday: Just one more day of dry weather leading to an extremely high brush fire danger across the entire area.
This means that lots of sunshine can be expected on Wednesday with high temperatures between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and East to Northeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Wednesday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to form along an eastward moving frontal system that’ll be approaching the area from the west.
Skies will become cloudy during the evening with rain beginning across Western Mass just before sunrise Thursday morning. Rain is then expected to begin across Central Mass around sunrise Thursday morning.
Low temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be East to Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Rain Is Expected Thursday Through Friday: The weather looks quite wet throughout Thursday, Thursday night and Friday as a frontal system pushes through the region during Thursday. Behind this front, a slow moving upper level low pressure system will rotate across the region during Thursday night and Friday prolonging the wet and unsettled weather. Depending on how much cold air lurks on the backside of the upper level low pressure system will dictate whether the higher elevations of the Berkshires see a light accumulation of snow on Thursday night and Friday.
Rain is expected all day Thursday and all night Thursday night across a majority of Western and Central Mass. The exception might be across the higher elevations of the Berkshires where the rain mixes with and even changes to some snow during Thursday night.
The steadiest of the rain is expected throughout the day on Thursday and the rain might even be moderate to heavy at times. That rain looks to become more showery in nature during Thursday night as we come under the influence of that upper level low pressure system.
During Friday, unsettled weather is expected to continue with rain showers expected throughout the day. These showers may be in the form of snow showers or a mix of snow and rain showers in the Berkshires during the day on Friday.
Rainfall totals from Thursday through Friday are expected to be between 1 and 2 inches across the entire area. Definitely a decent drink of water that’ll help some with the severe drought conditions and the brush fire danger.
As for snow amounts on Thursday night and Friday, it appears that perhaps an inch or two of slushy snow is a possibility in the higher elevations of the Berkshires.
High temperatures Thursday will be near 45 Degrees. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 35 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be near 45 Degrees. Winds on Thursday will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
This Weekend: That upper level low pressure system is expected to remain over the northeastern United States throughout this weekend. This means that somewhat unsettled weather will persist on Saturday with gradually improving weather on Sunday.
Saturday looks cloudy with scattered showers. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees.
Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.
