For The Rest Of This Afternoon & Tonight: An upper level disturbance will continue pushing southward across the region during the remaining parts of this afternoon. This disturbance will bring a continuation of the scattered shower activity that’s occurring. Some of the showers may produce some short-lived localized heavy downpours, especially across Central Mass.
Temperatures during the rest of this afternoon will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Any leftover showers will end by sunset today & partly cloudy skies can be expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Friday & Friday Night: An area of low pressure and its frontal system is expected to move nearly due south from Quebec province into northern New England during the day on Friday. That low pressure system and its frontal system will then push into southern New England during Friday night.
Friday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. Some scattered showers are expected by late afternoon, especially across the northern Worcester Hills and the northern Berkshires. High temperatures will be near 70 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Widespread showers are expected throughout Friday night as that frontal system pushes into the area. Low temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Saturday: A downright chilly day is expected on Saturday as there will be some pretty cold air for this time of year behind that front. In fact, the air looks so cold that it will likely snow in the higher elevations of the Green Mountains of Vermont, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the western Maine mountains. Over 6 inches of snow accumulation is quite possible on the mountaintops of the Presidential range of New Hampshire. Anyone planning on hiking in the mountains of Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine on Saturday will probably want to rethink those plans as winter weather conditions are likely.
For our area here in Western and Central Mass, it will be cloudy and downright chilly throughout the day. In addition, there will be scattered showers across the region throughout the day. I do want to mention that it’s not out of the realm of possibility that some of the highest elevations of the northern Worcester Hills and the northern Berkshires may see some scattered snow showers at times during the day on Saturday. Yeah, it’s going to be that cold on Saturday.
High temperatures Saturday will be between 44 and 49 Degrees. Winds will be North at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wind chill temperatures on Saturday will be in the middle 30s.
Sunday: Compared to Saturday, Sunday looks to be a downright very nice day with partly sunny skies expected. High temperatures will be around 70 Degrees.
