For Tonight: Varying amounts of cloudiness can be expected for at least the first half of tonight. Skies then look to become partly cloudy during the late night hours of tonight.
Low temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be North at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday Through Wednesday: An area of high pressure will be positioned over Quebec province throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. At the same time this is occurring, a weak low pressure system looks to track well south of New England during Tuesday and Tuesday night. The combination of the high pressure system to the north and the low pressure system to the south will set up a northeasterly wind flow right over the area.
Tuesday looks to start out sunny to partly sunny, but skies will become cloudy during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 7 to 14 mph.
Cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday night & there will be areas of drizzle & perhaps an isolated passing shower or two. Low temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday looks cloudy with areas of drizzle & perhaps a couple of isolated passing showers. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday Through Halloween: An area of low pressure is expected to track across Pennsylvania and New York State during Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. It is possible that a secondary low pressure system may take shape near the New England coast during late Thursday. At the same time this is occurring, Major Hurricane Melissa (now a Category 5 hurricane!), which is currently located in Caribbean poised to devastate the island of Jamaica, will be moving to the northeast well offshore of the East Coast on Thursday. While Melissa is not expected to directly impact our area, some of the moisture associated with the hurricane may be pulled northwestward into the low pressure system over the northeast US.
This entire weather setup looks to yield a scenario where heavy rain will occur throughout Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Some of this rain looks to persist through Halloween morning & may actually come to an end during the afternoon on Halloween.
So, rain looks to begin across the entire area by around sunrise Thursday morning. The rain is then expected to continue throughout the day on Thursday & the rain will probably be heavy at times during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.
Rain is expected throughout all of Thursday night and the rain will be heavy at times. Low temperatures will be near 45 Degrees.
The rain looks to continue through Halloween morning & may gradually come to an end during Halloween afternoon. There is some hope that we might be able to salvage at least part of Halloween, especially the late afternoon and evening parts. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees.
Total rainfall amounts with this storm look to average between 1 and 2 inches or so across the entire area.
This Weekend: Saturday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds and it will be windy. High temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Westerly winds are likely to gust up to 30-40 mph at times throughout the day.
Saturday night looks partly cloudy with low temperatures near 35 Degrees.
Sunday is expected to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees.
