Quiet Weather Is Expected Throughout This Week Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight & Tuesday: Generally cloudy skies are expected tonight as a “dry” piece of energy moves across the region. Low temperatures will be between 15 and 20 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph. High pressure builds into the area for Tuesday with lots of sunshine expected throughout the day. High temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph. Wednesday: A frontal system is expected to pass across far northern parts of New England during the day on Wednesday. It appears that this front will be too far north to have any effects, except for some clouds during the day. This means that Wednesday will feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Thursday Through Friday: A southwesterly wind flow will be in place across the region throughout Thursday and Friday. This will transport some much milder air into the area. Thursday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees. Friday is expected to be cloudy with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day: An area of low pressure is expected to head northeastward and pass across western New England on Saturday night into Sunday. The air mass with this storm system is expected to be quite mild and thus the precipitation with this system will be all rain. New Year’s Eve is expected to be cloudy with rain moving in by evening. Rain is then expected throughout Saturday night into the morning hours of New Year’s Day. This rain will become much more showery in nature by the afternoon of New Year’s Day. High temperatures New Year’s Eve will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Low temperatures Saturday night will be near 45 Degrees. High temperatures New Year’s Day will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.
