Occasional Rain Changes To Occasional Light Snow By 3-4 pm This Afternoon With Snow Persisting Into Early This Evening Across Western & Central Mass (Posted at 12:35 pm Thursday 3/12/2026)

On and off rain, which will be mixed with sleet and snow will occur across the entire area over the next 2-3 hours or so.

This mix of rain, sleet and snow is expected to change to all snow by about 3-4 pm or so this afternoon. Occasional light snow is then expected to continue through late this afternoon and early this evening.

The snow looks to come to an end across the entire area from west to east between about 8 pm and 10 pm this evening.

Snow accumulations from late this afternoon through early this evening will average from a dusting to perhaps up to one inch. It should be noted that any snow accumulation will occur on grassy and non-pavement surfaces. Roads and other paved surfaces will likely stay wet as the snow is likely to melt on contact. Because of this, I'm not really anticipating any sort of slick roads due to the snow.
