No Weather Problems Through Mid-Week Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected tonight as an area of high pressure controls the weather. Low temperatures tonight will be near 55 Degrees. Winds tonight will be west to northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday: That high pressure system will provide a dry northwest wind flow over the area during Tuesday. This means that skies on Tuesday will be sunny with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees. Winds on Tuesday will be northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday: High pressure will continue to control the weather throughout Wednesday with lots of sunshine expected. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds on Wednesday will be east at 5 to 10 mph. Thursday & Friday: An area of high pressure to push to the east during Thursday and this will lead to a warmer and more humid southerly wind flow to set up. This means that Thursday looks as if there will be a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day. High temperatures Thursday will be near 80 Degrees. A prefrontal trough of low pressure looks to pass through the area Thursday night bringing with it a round of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 65 Degrees. A cold front is forecast to cross the area late Friday morning into Friday afternoon. The timing and progress of this front is going to have to be watched as a combination of the warm, humid air, strong low-level wind shear and forcing from the front could lead to an environment that’s favorable for severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon. At this point, Friday looks warm and humid under cloudy skies. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected from late morning through the afternoon hours of Friday. Again, the intensity of the thunderstorms may be something to keep an eye on. High temperatures Friday will be near 85 Degrees. Weekend Weather Forecast: A cool and moist northwesterly wind flow looks to set up for the weekend leading to afternoon showers and thunderstorms on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday looks to start out partly sunny, but instability cumulus clouds will build during the afternoon with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Given the cold pool of air above us, small hail could be a threat from thunderstorms. High temperatures Saturday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees. Sunday also looks to start out partly sunny, but with building clouds expected by afternoon. Another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms with the threat for small hail is possible during Sunday afternoon. High temperatures Sunday will be near 70 Degrees.
