A line of strong thunderstorms is currently located right near the I-91 corridor. These strong thunderstorms are heading in a easterly direction at a forward speed of about 15-20 mph. These thunderstorms are in addition to the loud thunderstorms that are now affecting the Southbridge and Sturbridge areas and are heading towards the I-395 corridor.
The line of strong thunderstorms now located along I-91 will affect the Springfield Metro through 7:30 pm. These storms will then push into the western Worcester Hills as well as into the I-84 corridor between about 8 and 8:30 pm and then cross the rest of Central Mass between 8:30 and 9:30 pm.
Even before then, showers with occasional thunderstorms will occur from time to time across the entire area over the next couple of hours.
All of these showers and thunderstorms will clear the entire area by about 10 pm or so.
These showers and thunderstorms are in association with a cold front moving across the region.
Behind this front will be the introduction of some fall-like air which will fully push into the region during Tuesday and remain with us through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This means that high temperatures Tuesday will be between 65 and 70 Degrees with some much drier air moving in. Low temperatures Tuesday night and Wednesday night will be near 50 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 65 Degrees. High temperatures Thursday will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be near 75 Degrees.
Tuesday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. More clouds than sunshine can be expected on Wednesday along with some scattered afternoon showers. Sunshine then returns for Thursday and Friday.
