End Of The Week & Weekend Weather Forecast For Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: An upper level trough of low pressure will push through the region this afternoon. This means that there will continue to be a mixture of sunshine and clouds this afternoon. In addition, there may be an isolated rain or snow shower around from time to time north of the Mass Pike with scattered showers of rain and snow expected near and north of Route 2. Temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: A northwesterly wind flow will remain in place across the region tonight. Overall, it looks like skies tonight will be partly cloudy. It should be clear enough though to observe this year’s Leonid meteor shower. Look towards the eastern sky after midnight tonight and you may catch a few meteors if you wait a few minutes. At the same time you’re looking for meteors, you should be able to see Orion’s belt about halfway up in the southeastern sky and the planet Mars almost three-quarters of the way up in the southeastern sky just above the constellation Orion. If you do go outdoors tonight, make sure to dress warmly as low temperatures will be near 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, which will lead to wind chill temperatures in the teens. Friday & Friday Night: Sunny skies are expected to start out the day on Friday with partly sunny skies expected during Friday afternoon. In addition, there may be some scattered snow showers during the late afternoon hours. High temperatures Friday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Scattered snow showers are expected to continue through Friday evening, ending around midnight or so. Skies are then expected to become clear to partly cloudy after midnight. Low temperatures Friday night will be near 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph. This Weekend: Saturday looks like it will feature lots of sunshine with high temperatures near 40 Degrees. It looks like a low pressure system will pass well offshore of the New England coast on Sunday. This means that skies will be partly sunny as some high clouds from that storm system will move over the area. High temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Monday Through Wednesday: It looks like decent weather is expected for the first half of next week. This means that holiday travel conditions should be fine for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Tuesday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Wednesday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees.
