An Active Monday Morning With Heavy Showers, Scattered Thunderstorms & Gusty Winds Are Expected Across Western & Central Mass

Heavy Showers, Scattered Thunderstorms, Some Strong, & Gusty Winds Are Expected During Monday Morning: A strong cold front is expected to push across the area during Monday morning bringing with it quite an active Monday morning of weather across all of Western and Central Mass.

Some scattered showers and areas of drizzle looks to first affect the area during the after midnight hours of tonight.

For Western Mass: It is then expected that a narrow line of heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms will first affect Western Mass beginning around 5 am and lasting until about 9 am Monday morning.

As for Central Mass: This narrow line of heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms will affect Central Mass beginning about 7-8 am Monday morning and lasting until about 11 am or so.

Expected Impacts From This Line Of Showers & Storms Across All Of Western Mass: Even though this line of showers and thunderstorms will be quick moving, it is likely to pack quite a punch when it moves through. I expect that this line of showers and storms will produce very heavy downpours that’ll able to dump a quick 1 to 2 inches of rain and wind gusts of up to 50-60 mph for about 30-45 minutes or so at any one location.

Outside of the line of showers and storms, it is expected to be windy on Monday morning with South to Southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-40 mph.

That cold front is expected to push to our east by the first half of Monday morning & once it does, a majority of the shower & thunderstorm activity looks to come to an end during the early and mid-afternoon hours of Monday. That said, a stray isolated shower is possible even into the late afternoon hours of Monday.

I am keeping a close eye on the active weather that’s expected for Monday morning & will have more updates as needed.
