A Look At The Rest Of This Weekend & Next Week’s Weather Across Western & Central Mass

Tonight: Generally cloudy skies are expected tonight with low temperatures near 20 Degrees. Sunday & Sunday Night: A weak frontal system will approach the area during the day on Sunday bringing with it some afternoon snow shower activity. All-in-all, any snow accumulations will be less than one inch across the region. High temperatures Sunday will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. The snow shower activity should come to an end during Sunday evening with cloudy skies expected for the remainder of the night. Low temperatures Sunday night will be near 25 Degrees. Monday: An area of low pressure is expected to pass well east of Nantucket. This will keep any snow well to our east. So, Monday is expected to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Will We Be Able To See The Conjunction Of Jupiter & Saturn On Monday Evening? Unfortunately, I think we may be fighting quite a bit in the way of cloudiness with a broken cloud deck expected. There is the possibility that you may be able to see this astronomical phenomena in the breaks of the clouds. So, look to the southwest immediately after sunset Monday as both Jupiter and Saturn will set at about 6:15 pm or so. Tuesday Through Wednesday: A generally cloudy day is expected on Tuesday with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Partly sunny skies are expected on Wednesday with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Christmas Eve Through Christmas Day: A rather strong storm system is expected to track into the eastern Great Lakes during Christmas Eve. This will pull a rather strong cold front across Southern New England during Christmas Morning. This means that some stormy weather can be expected for Thursday night and Christmas Day. At this point, I think that Christmas Eve Day (Thursday) will be cloudy and any rain will hold off until Thursday evening. High temperatures Thursday will be near 45 Degrees. Rain is expected on Thursday night and there is the possibility for a period of heavy rain after midnight Thursday night. Temperatures on Thursday night will be in the 40s. Any rain will come to an end on Christmas Morning and it’s possible that it may change to a period of snow before ending. On Christmas afternoon, skies will be cloudy and there will be the possibility of snow shower activity. Temperatures on Christmas Day will fall into the 30s. I don’t think that we’ll see a fast enough drop in temperatures on Christmas for icy conditions to develop.
