A Line Of Thunderstorms, Some Strong, Will Move Eastward Into Central Mass Next Couple Of Hours

A line of thunderstorms, some strong in intensity are now pushing eastward across the I-91 corridor as of the time of this writing.

These storms are moving eastward at a forward speed of about 15-20 mph.

I anticipate that this line of thunderstorms will reach areas around Monson and Palmer by about 5:30-5:45 pm and then reach areas around Sturbridge, Brookfield and New Braintree by about 6-6:15 pm or so.

Areas around the Worcester Metro and the I-395, I-190 and Route 146 corridors are currently anticipated to see this line of thunderstorms by about 7 pm.

These thunderstorms will contain heavy downpours and frequent lightning. Additionally, some of the stronger storms will be capable of producing wind gusts of 40-50 mph and pea size hail.
