Radar imagery at the time of this post showed a line of thunderstorms that stretches from central and southwestern New Hampshire through southern Vermont into far eastern New York State. Some of these thunderstorms are on the strong side.

These thunderstorms are currently moving in a southeasterly direction and is expected to enter the far upper Pioneer Valley of Western Mass and the northern parts of Worcester County between about 7 and 8 pm.

These thunderstorms are then expected to push southeastward across the rest of Western & Central Mass reaching areas from Springfield to Worcester, including much of the Worcester Hills north of the Mass Pike by about 9 pm.

These storms will then impact much of the Mass Pike, as well as I-84 and I-395 between 9 and 10 pm and then slide southeastward into northern and central Connecticut and northern Rhode Island by about 11 pm.

Some of these thunderstorms will be on the strong side and be capable of producing 50-60 mph wind gusts, heavy downpours and frequent lightning. Areas north of the Mass Pike looks to be more likely to see strong thunderstorms than areas near and south of the Mass Pike.

More updates will be sent out as needed this evening.
