10 pm Friday Evening Weather Update For Western & Central Mass

1 min read

Just when I thought I'd get an actual night off.....the thunderstorms said NOPE & decided to start heading our way.

Radar imagery at the time of this post showed a thunderstorm that's producing heavy downpours and some lightning now near North Adams. This storm will cross the upper Pioneer Valley over the next hour or so & then move into the northern Worcester Hills by about 11:30 pm or so.

Looking a bit further west, there is a thunderstorm that's producing lightning and heavy downpours that's located near Schenectady, New York. This thunderstorm is actually moving in a southeasterly direction at a forward speed of about 40 mph.

It is expected that the thunderstorm now near Schenectady should move into northwestern Mass by about 11 pm and then head southeastward reaching the upper and middle Pioneer Valley by about 11:30 pm or so.

If this thunderstorm holds together, it could head southeastward and affect parts of central and southern Worcester County between midnight and 1 am or so.

These thunderstorms will potentially produce heavy downpours and a moderate amount of lightning when they move through.

If that wasn't enough, other thunderstorms now located near Syracuse might need to be watched for the predawn hours of Saturday morning.
