Sunday: Skies are expected to be sunny to partly sunny during the morning. Skies will begin to cloud up during the afternoon as a low pressure system approaches the area from the west.

1 To 3 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Is Expected From About 9 pm Sunday Night Until About 4 am Monday Morning: An area of low pressure is expected to move right across Southern New England during Sunday night bringing with it several hours of snow across the entire area.

Snow will begin across the entire area around 9 pm or so Sunday night. The snow is then expected to continue throughout the rest of the night before it comes to an end by about 4 am or so Monday morning.

My forecast snow amounts for Sunday night can be found with the snowfall forecast map attached to this post. Overall though, it appears that a general 1 to 3 inch snowfall can be expected across the region.

Temperatures during Sunday night will be between 22 and 27 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and West at 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Monday: The snow will be done by the time the sun rises on Monday morning. Skies during the day on Monday will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday: A partly sunny day is expected on Tuesday with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Wednesday Through Thursday: Quiet weather is expected during the day on Wednesday with sunny skies. High temperatures will be between 25 and 30 Degrees.

An area of low pressure and its associated frontal system is expected to cross New England during Wednesday night and Thursday. There is a considerable amount of uncertainty as to how this storm system might affect our weather.

Some of the weather forecast guidance show a northerly and more mild track of the storm system, which would lead to a mixed bag of snow, freezing rain and then rain late Wednesday night through Thursday.

Other weather forecast guidance are pointing towards a much colder storm track, which would lead to all snow to occur late Wednesday night through Thursday.

Given the large uncertainties with the forecast and that this storm is still a few days away, I’m not going to get much more detailed, except to say that a mixed bag of snow, ice and rain looks quite possible beginning during the after midnight hours of Wednesday night and lasting through the day on Thursday.

This is a weather system that I’ll be watching closely and will have updates for you as needed.
