As expected, showers of freezing rain and sleet has overspread the entire area at the time of this post. Temperatures right now are in the upper 20s to around 30 Degrees and because of this, ice has immediately formed on all surfaces.

Be extra cautious if you are out and about either this evening or during the overnight hours of tonight. Roads will be quite slick in some spots. Additionally, decks and stairs will be icy, so watch that first step when going outside tonight.

Icy conditions are likely tonight into tomorrow morning as showers of freezing rain and sleet move across all of Western & Central Mass.

A frontal system is expected to push through the region during tonight. Milder air pushing over a cold surface is likely to lead to the occurrence of freezing rain and sleet across the entire area.

Showers of freezing rain and sleet are expected to overspread all of Western and Central Mass by about 7-8 pm this evening. The showers of freezing rain and sleet are then expected to continue throughout all of tonight into the morning hours of Wednesday.

These showers look to end as some snow showers by mid to late Wednesday morning.

Ice amounts tonight into Wednesday morning are expected to average between one tenth (0.10") of an inch and two tenths (0.20") of an inch.

This will not be enough ice to produce any sort of downed tree limbs or power lines.

There will be enough ice accumulation tonight and Wednesday to lead to slick conditions and hazardous travel conditions. Because of this, I strongly urge you to exercise extreme caution if you are out on the roads tonight and Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning's commute is likely to be quite challenging and slow-going due to the anticipated icy conditions.

For Tonight: Generally partly cloudy skies are expected during tonight. Low temperatures will be around 10 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at around 10 mph.

Monday & Monday Night: A weak low pressure system is expected to cross the region during Monday afternoon and Monday night. This low pressure system is likely to bring some light snow to all of Western and Central Mass during Monday afternoon and Monday night.

It appears that skies will start out partly sunny during Monday morning, but will become cloudy by Monday afternoon.

Light snow looks to overspread the entire area by about mid-afternoon on Monday. This light snow then is expected to continue through the late afternoon hours of Monday as well as right through the first half of Monday night. The light snow then looks to come to an end during the after midnight hours of Monday night.

Snow amounts during Monday afternoon and Monday evening are expected to average between 1 and 2 inches across all of Western and Central Mass.

High temperatures Monday will be around 25 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and Southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Low temperatures Monday night will be near 20 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southwest at 5 to 10 mph before midnight and North to Northwest at around 5 mph after midnight.

Tuesday: We are expected to be in-between weather systems during Tuesday. Because of this, skies will be cloudy throughout the day on Tuesday. High temperatures will be around 35 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northeast at around 5 mph.

Some Mixed Snow & Freezing Rain Is Possible Tuesday Night That Changes To A Few Rain Showers On Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to track from the Great Lakes region into Quebec province during Tuesday night and Wednesday.

It appears that milder air will be pushed over some cold temperatures near the ground just as precipitation moves in during Tuesday. Because of this, it appears that some periods of mixed light snow and light freezing rain will occur during the overnight hours of Tuesday night. Now, it appears that any ice accumulation will be very light, but it may still be enough to produce slick roads across the region during Tuesday night. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be around 30 Degrees.

During Wednesday, skies are expected to be cloudy throughout the day. Additionally, some scattered rain showers are possible from time to time during the day. High temperatures Wednesday will be around 40 Degrees.
