Very Warm Temperatures With Hazy Smoky Skies Are Expected On Wednesday Across Western & Central Mass; Hot & Humid Weather Is Expected On Thursday & Friday

For This Afternoon: An area of high pressure will continue to build into the region during this afternoon.

This means that lots of sunshine can be expected throughout this afternoon with temperatures between 77 and 82 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight & Wednesday: High pressure will control our weather throughout tonight and Wednesday.

Even though skies will be clear tonight and sunny on Wednesday, smoke from some large forest fires in western Canada will overspread the region during tonight and remain in place during Wednesday. This means that the sky will be hazy throughout tonight and throughout the day on Wednesday. Most of the smoke should remain in the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere, so I’m not expecting there to be any sort of a smoky smell to the air.

In addition to all of this, Wednesday is expected to be a very warm day with gradually increasing humidity during the late afternoon hours.

Low temperatures tonight will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 84 and 89 Degrees.

Winds tonight will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph. Winds on Wednesday will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday & Friday: A hot and humid day is expected on Thursday with high temperatures around 90 Degrees. Skies will start out sunny during Thursday morning with partly sunny skies expected during Thursday afternoon. There is the possibility for a late afternoon or evening isolated thunderstorm, but at this point, it appears most of the thunderstorm activity should stay over northern New England.

Warm and humid conditions are expected on Thursday night under partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees.

Friday is expected to be another hot and humid day under partly sunny skies. We will be watching a cold front that’s expected to push eastward reaching Southern New England by late in the day. This front will bring with it a round of scattered showers and thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours. Overall, there are no signals that suggest any thunderstorms will be strong or severe.

High temperatures Friday will be between 85 and 90 Degrees.

This Weekend: The weekend weather forecast remains highly uncertain as a lot depends on the speed and track of a secondary frontal system. Some of the weather forecast guidance pull that front through during the day on Saturday leading to yet another wet Saturday. Other weather forecast guidance delay the passage of the front until Saturday night, which would be great news as that would mean a dry Saturday and Sunday and any showers occurring on Saturday night.

For now though I’m going to side with the more pessimistic weather guidance and go with a wet Saturday, but a dry Sunday. That said, there is plenty of room and time for the forecast to change for the weekend.

Saturday looks cloudy with widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms. High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees.

Sunday looks cloudy with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees.
