Summer Temperatures & Increasing Humidity Expected This Weekend Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: A persistent low pressure system that’s sitting and spinning off of the North Carolina coast will continue to produce an easterly wind flow this afternoon. Skies this afternoon will be partly sunny with temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees for most spots. The exception to this looks to be the Connecticut River Valley where 70 to 75 Degree temperatures are expected. Winds this afternoon will be east to northeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: That easterly wind flow may push in clouds and even some spotty drizzle, especially across Central Mass tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be near 50 Degrees. Winds tonight will be northeast at 7 to 15 mph. Thursday: That low pressure system should finally weaken enough so that it’ll allow high pressure from the north to take full control. Skies on Thursday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 75 Degrees. It should be noted that parts of the Connecticut River Valley may reach 80 Degrees during Thursday afternoon. Winds on Thursday will be northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Friday: A partly sunny day is expected on Friday with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds on Friday will become south at 5 to 10 mph. This Weekend: A southwesterly wind flow will set up across the region this weekend leading to some much warmer temperatures and increasing humidity to be pushed into the area. Saturday looks like it’ll feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds and there could be some scattered showers around during the afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will be around 80 Degrees and it’ll be kind of humid. Sunday will feature partly sunny skies with some scattered showers possible during the afternoon.
