Snow Showers Are Expected This Evening Across Western & Central Mass (Issued: Late Tuesday Morning 12/09/2025)

For This Afternoon: A cold afternoon is expected along with gradually increasing amounts of clouds.

Temperatures will be around 25 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: A weather disturbance is expected to push through the area during tonight bringing with it some snow shower activity during this evening.

Cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight. In addition, snow showers are expected to cross the area this evening between about 8-9 pm and about midnight-1 am or so. Any snow accumulations will be between a dusting to perhaps up to one inch.

Low temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Wednesday & Wednesday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to track from the Great Lakes region on Wednesday morning to across northern New England by Wednesday evening. This low pressure system will pull a frontal system through the area during Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening.

Cloudy skies are expected throughout the day on Wednesday. Any precipitation, mainly in the form of rain will overspread the entire area during the early and mid-afternoon hours. The exception to this looks to be over the Berkshires and the northernmost Worcester Hills where wet snow can be expected during the mid and late afternoon hours.

All precipitation looks to come to an end during the evening hours between about 8 pm and 10 pm.

Snow accumulations look to be confined to the northernmost Worcester Hills and across the Berkshires where 1 to perhaps 2 inches of snow is possible.

High temperatures Wednesday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be near 25 Degrees.

Winds on Wednesday will be Southwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Winds on Wednesday night will be Southwest at 15 to 20 mph before midnight and West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph after midnight.

Thursday: A windy and cold day is expected on Thursday under a mixture of sunshine and clouds.

High temperatures will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Winds will be West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Thursday Night & Friday: Cold and windy conditions are expected throughout Thursday night and Friday.

Thursday night will be clear, cold and windy with low temperatures between 15 and 20 Degrees.

Friday is expected to be a sunny day with cold and windy conditions. High temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees.

This Weekend: I continue to keep close tabs on this weekend’s weather as signals seem to point towards a bit of snow occurring across the entire area on Sunday.

An area of low pressure is expected to track towards the Mid-Atlantic states from the Tennessee Valley on Saturday. This low pressure system then looks to pass to the south of New England during the day on Sunday.

The track of this storm system could be close enough to bring the entire area at least some snow from late Saturday night through the day on Sunday. At this point, it appears that snow amounts could end up being anywhere from a couple of inches to maybe a few inches.

No matter what happens, I will be watching this storm system closely and will have more updates in the days to come.

Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Snow may occur from late Saturday night into the day on Sunday with a couple of inches of snow to maybe a few inches of snow accumulation. High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees.
