Tonight: An area of low pressure now located over the northern Great Lakes will move eastward across southeastern Canada tonight. This storm system will pull a frontal system across our area bringing us rain throughout the night tonight. Light rain will gradually overspread Western and Central Mass this evening and then continue throughout the rest of the night tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. The exception to this will be across the northern Worcester Hills and the Berkshires where some light freezing rain may occur tonight as temperatures will fall to near freezing. Please be alert for areas of slippery travel across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills. Monday: Light rain is expected to continue during Monday morning before ending around midday. Some partial sunshine is then expected during Monday afternoon along with increasingly more windy conditions. High temperatures Monday of 45 to 50 Degrees are expected to occur during the morning with temperatures slowly falling into the upper 30s to the lower 40s during the afternoon. Northwest winds are expected to gust up to 40 to 50 mph by late afternoon Monday. Monday Night: A secondary Arctic cold front is expected to push across the area during Monday evening. I do think this Arctic cold front will bring with it a few snow showers and a snow squall or two as it moves through. At this time, it appears that any snow shower and snow squall activity will occur between about 7-8 pm and midnight Monday evening. A quick inch or two of snow accumulation is certainly possible in areas that do see snow shower and especially snow squall activity. In addition, strong northwest winds with gusts of up to 50 mph are expected throughout Monday night. It is expected to be COLD on Monday night with low temperatures of 10 to 15 Degrees. These cold temperatures combined with the strong winds will lead to wind chill temperatures of 5 to 15 below zero throughout Monday night. Brrrr!! Tuesday: A sunny, quite cold and quite windy day is expected on Tuesday. I think that high temperatures on Tuesday will struggle to make it to 25 to 30 Degrees. Northwest winds are expected to gust up to 40 to 50 mph throughout much of the day on Tuesday. Wind chill temperatures on Tuesday will range from Zero to 10 below zero during the morning and near 10 above zero during Tuesday afternoon. Bottom line is that Tuesday will feel like an early January day and not an early March one. Tuesday Night: A clear and cold night is expected on Tuesday night with low temperatures near 20 Degrees. Wednesday Through Friday: Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. High temperatures on Wednesday will be near 45 Degrees. High temperatures Thursday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. High temperatures Friday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees.
