Quiet Weather Is Expected Through Tuesday Across Western & Central Mass (Issued: Late Monday Afternoon 1/12/2026)

For Tonight & Tuesday: An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout tonight and Tuesday.

Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday looks to feature sunny skies throughout the morning with partly sunny skies expected during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night & Wednesday: A frontal system is expected to track southeastward into New England during Tuesday night.

Cloudy skies are expected throughout Tuesday night. In addition to this, some scattered rain and snow showers can be expected during the after midnight hours of Tuesday night. Low temperatures will be near 35 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Wednesday is expected to be cloudy throughout the day. In addition, there will be on and off rain showers throughout the day as that frontal boundary becomes stalled across our area. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 7 to 15 mph.

Thursday Through Friday: I continue to keep close tabs on the possibility of a storm system passing near or over Southern New England near the end of this week. That being said, it seems that most of the weather forecast guidance have trended towards a track that would have the low pressure system tracking across northern New England leading to a snowstorm over parts of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine & little impact here in Western and Central Mass.

Even though it seems like the late week storm might be a miss for our area, a lot can change between now and the end of this week & it’s possible that the storm track could shift back towards more winter weather impacts here across Western and Central Mass.

For now, Thursday looks cloudy with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 25 and 30 Degrees.

Thanks so much, Rob. At least tomorrow I should be able to get my greyhound out for a walk. Love your reports!
