For Tonight: A cold front is expected to approach the area from the west throughout tonight.
Varying amounts of cloud cover can be expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be near 25 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Sunday Through Monday: That cold front is expected to push through the region during the late morning and afternoon hours of Sunday before it moves offshore on Sunday night. A high pressure system will very briefly control the weather during the day on Monday.
Sunday looks to feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds during the morning into the first half of the afternoon. Skies will then become clear to partly cloudy by late afternoon. High temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected on Sunday night with low temperatures near 15 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.
Monday looks to be a sunny to partly sunny day. High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Accumulating Snow Looks Pretty Likely On Tuesday: A warm front is expected to approach the area from the southwest during the day on Tuesday. As it does so, it’ll produce snow across the entire area during the day on Tuesday. Additionally, there is the possibility that an area of low pressure may form along this frontal boundary as it reaches the Gulf of Maine on Tuesday night. The development of this low pressure system could prolong how long it snows across parts of the area.
Light to possibly moderate snow looks to overspread the entire area around or just after sunrise Tuesday morning. The light to moderate snow looks to then continue throughout much of the day on Tuesday before it comes to an end during late Tuesday afternoon and early Tuesday evening.
Current indications seem to be pointing towards snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches to occur across the entire area during the day on Tuesday. I do want to mention that should we see a quicker development of that low pressure system, it could extend how long it snows across the entire area through Tuesday night & should this occur, it would lead to higher snow amounts (upwards of 3 to 6 inches??). I want to emphasize that this is something that I’m not forecasting right now & instead, I think that it’s more likely we see something like a 1 to 3 inch snowfall.
All-in-all, it looks like Tuesday’s expected snow will guarantee a white Christmas across the entire area this year.
Temperatures during the day on Tuesday will be in the low 30s.
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day: A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected during Christmas Eve with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.
Christmas Day is looking cloudy with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.
