My Memorial Day Weather Forecast For Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected for the rest of this afternoon. Any showers should hold off until after sunset this evening (sunset is at 8:15 pm today). Temperatures the rest of this afternoon will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: A warm front is expected to cross the area during the overnight hours of tonight. This means that widespread showers with locally heavy rainfall and a few thunderstorms can be expected between about midnight tonight and about 6 am Saturday morning. Low temperatures tonight will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds tonight will be south at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Saturday: Even though Saturday will not be a washout, there will still be the risk for some scattered shower and thunderstorm activity at times during Saturday afternoon. Skies on Saturday will be a mixture of sunshine and clouds and once the overnight showers move to the east, there should be a lull in the shower activity throughout the morning. A cold front is expected to slowly push across the region during Saturday afternoon. This means that scattered showers and thunderstorms will overspread the area between about 12 pm and 2 pm Saturday afternoon. This scattered shower and thunderstorm activity is then expected to continue all afternoon and come to an end about 8-9 pm Saturday evening. At this point, I’m not anticipating severe thunderstorms from these storms, but a storm or two could still be on the strong side with gusty winds and some small hail. High temperatures Saturday will be around 75 Degrees. Sunday & Memorial Day: Sunday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 78 and 82 Degrees. Memorial Day looks partly sunny and very warm with high temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees. Tuesday Through Next Friday: High pressure located off of the East Coast of the United States will put our area into a very warm and humid southwesterly wind flow for Tuesday. This means that Tuesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees. A frontal system looks to sink southward across our area during for Wednesday and this should bring some cooler temperatures. So, Wednesday looks partly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 80 Degrees. A secondary cold front is forecast to push through the area late Thursday and Thursday night. Thursday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 80 Degrees. Some late day showers are possible with the showers expected to continue into Thursday night. Next Friday looks to start out cloudy, but there could be some increasing sunshine during the afternoon. High temperatures next Friday will be near 75 Degrees.
