Mid & Late Afternoon Thunderstorms Expected Across Western & Central Mass

An active mid and late afternoon in terms of thunderstorms are expected across Western and Central Mass.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move from north to south into the area by about 2-3 pm this afternoon and then continue through the late afternoon hours before diminishing around sunset or so.

While scattered thunderstorms look likely across the entire area, it appears that they will be most concentrated across Central Mass with most of the thunderstorms occurring between 2-3 pm and 6 pm. A few of the thunderstorms may be on the strong side with heavy downpours, wind gusts of up to 40 mph and perhaps pea size hail.
