Increasing Shower Activity Is Expected This Afternoon Across Western & Central Mass

A wet afternoon is expected across Western and Central Mass as an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity is on the table.

Radar imagery at the time of this writing indicated that an area of showers is now entering the Berkshires with a second area of showers and thunderstorms now located over far northern parts of Worcester County.

It looks likely that both areas of showers/thunderstorms should merge and push southward over the next couple of hours, so that by 3 pm or so, it should be raining almost everywhere across Western and Central Mass. Given how cool the atmosphere right now, I think any thunderstorms will be non-severe, but still a rumble or two of thunder is possible around mid-afternoon.

The first area of showers should move out of the area by about 5 pm with a second area of showers and thunderstorms pushing across Western and Central Mass between 6 pm and 9 pm today.

During the overnight hours of Tonight, on and off showers and thunderstorms are expected across the entire area.

Temperatures this afternoon will hold steady around 60 Degrees. Low temperatures tonight will be near 55 Degrees.

Thursday looks to feature lots of clouds around and there may be an isolated late afternoon shower possible, especially across Western Mass. High temperatures Thursday will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.

A wet day is expected on Friday with widespread showers expected during the morning that'll taper off to more scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm during the afternoon. High temperatures Friday will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.

This Weekend looks quite comfortable with lots of sunshine expected both on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will be near 75 Degrees with very comfortable humidity levels.
