Hot & Humid Conditions Expected Friday Along With Scattered Afternoon & Early Evening Thunderstorms, Some Of Which May Be Strong To Severe Across Western & Central Mass

After a warm and quite humid night Tonight across the region with low temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees, Friday looks hot and humid under a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day. High temperatures will be between 88 and 93 Degrees and dew point temperatures will be around 70 Degrees.

Additionally, I am going to be keeping very close tabs on the potential for scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon into the very early evening hours across the entire area. A cold front is expected to sweep through the area & the energy & moisture from this front will combine with the unstable atmosphere caused by the hot and humid conditions to produce a favorable environment for thunderstorms, some which may be strong to severe.

Current indications seem to be pointing towards scattered thunderstorms affecting the area beginning about 2-3 pm Friday afternoon and lasting until around 6-7 pm or so Friday evening. Some of the thunderstorms may be on the strong to severe side & be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 45-60 mph, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.

I will be keeping close tabs on any thunderstorms that do develop during Friday afternoon and will send updates as needed.

Once that front moves through the area, it will lead to a sunny to partly sunny day on Saturday. High temperatures will be between 80 and 85 Degrees and dew point temperatures will be around 55 Degrees.

Sunday is looking wetter than previously thought as a weak frontal system moves through the area. Skies throughout the day on Sunday looks cloudy and there will be some scattered shower activity during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees.
