Heavy Showers & Thunderstorms Expected This Evening Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: A frontal system will gradually push eastward towards our area this afternoon. Skies this afternoon will be cloudy and there will continue to be areas of fog and drizzle. In addition, a couple of brief showers are possible from time to time. Temperatures this afternoon will be near 60 Degrees. Winds this afternoon will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 to 35 mph. Tonight: That frontal boundary will push through the area by late tonight. Numerous showers will overspread the entire area early this evening with locally heavy rainfall likely. In addition to this, a line of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to push into Western Mass during the 7 to 9 pm time frame and then into Central Mass by about 10-11 pm this evening. This line of heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue until about midnight. Any thunderstorms will have the potential to bring heavy downpours and wind gusts of up to 50 mph. Some lingering showers are expected to continue after midnight tonight. Temperatures tonight will be near 55 Degrees. Winds tonight will be southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Friday: More clouds than sunshine is expected on Friday and there is likely to be scattered shower activity throughout the day. In addition, an isolated thunderstorms that could contain some small hail is a possibility during the afternoon. Temperatures on Friday will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds on Friday will be west at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. This Weekend: An area of high pressure will control the weather during the day on Saturday. Skies on Saturday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds on Saturday will be west at 10 to 20 mph. An area of low pressure is expected to cross the region on Sunday. This weather system will bring some rain to the area during Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. High temperatures Sunday will be near 50 Degrees. Monday & Tuesday: Sunshine is expected to return to the area on Monday with high temperatures near 55 Degrees. A cloudy day is expected on Tuesday with some passing showers possible. High temperatures Tuesday will be near 55 Degrees. Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to move through the area during Wednesday. This low pressure system is expected to bring rain to the entire area during the day on Wednesday. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 50 Degrees.
