Early Tuesday Afternoon Weather Update For Western & Central Mass

Well, you win some, you lose some when forecasting the weather & this has been a big L for me in terms of forecasting today's snow.

It has failed to snow across much of the area so far today & there are a couple of reasons for this.

The first reason is that a high pressure system located to the north of our area has caused drier air to work in from the north leading to any snow that moves into our area to essentially evaporate.

The second reason is that an area of heavier snow this morning occurred across the NYC metro & this heavier snow has robbed any energy from this weather system leading to an area of sinking air to be in place over our area.

Some very light snow is now trying to push into the area at the time of this writing & I do think that we will see on and off very light snow to occur over the next few hours. There could be a period of steady light snow that occurs during early this evening.

Because of the lack of any real steady snow with this system, snow accumulations will probably be limited to a dusting to perhaps a half an inch of snow across the region, at most.

Any light snow will come to an end towards midnight tonight.

🥺🚫❄️So disappointing that we're not getting the fairly decent amount of snow that looked like Mother Nature was supposed to create today! But, I will do my best to remain hopeful for future snowfall to occur this winter season🙏🏻☃️🤞❄️🙏🏻❄️
