For Tonight: A frontal system that’s now moving across New York State will make its way across our area during the overnight hours of tonight.
Skies will start out partly cloudy this evening, but will become cloudy towards midnight. Cloudy skies are then expected during the after midnight hours of tonight. In addition to this, a batch of scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two will move across the region between about midnight and 4 am.
Low temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 8 to 16 mph.
Friday & Friday Night: It appears that a dry day can be expected on Friday as we will be in-between weather systems. Skies during the day will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. That said, it appears that the cloudiest weather will occur during the morning with more sunshine than clouds anticipated in the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees. It also looks to be muggy on Friday with dew point temperatures near 65 Degrees.
Friday night looks partly cloudy with low temperatures between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Saturday: A stronger cold front will be approaching the area during the day on Saturday. This front looks to move across the area during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Overall it appears that Saturday will feel like summer again with a mixture of sunshine and clouds along with warm and humid conditions.
I will be keeping an eye on the possibility for thunderstorms during late Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening. The combination of warm and humid conditions with the forcing from that front will make for favorable conditions to support the possibility of some of these storms being strong to even severe. Any strong or severe thunderstorms may be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 50 mph, torrential downpours & frequent lightning. The time frame for possible strong to severe thunderstorms look to be between about 4-5 pm and about 10 pm Saturday.
High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be around 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.
Sunday: That cold front looks to take its time moving offshore during Sunday & this could lead to kind of a unsettled day of weather across the region.
Cloudy skies are expected throughout Sunday and there looks to be scattered showers throughout the morning. Some drier weather looks to move in during the afternoon leading to the end of these showers.
High temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.
Next Week’s Weather Outlook: It appears that a big high pressure system should control the weather throughout at least the first half of next week. This means that we are in for some beautiful weather for early September, including sunny days, very low humidity and slightly cooler than average temperatures.
Monday and Tuesday both look sunny with high temperatures both days between 65 and 70 Degrees.
Wednesday looks sunny with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees.
Next Thursday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 70 Degrees.
Next Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 70 Degrees.
