A Cold Weekend Is Expected Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: Clear skies with cold conditions are expected tonight. Low temperatures will be between 15 and 20 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.

Friday & Friday Night: Sunny skies are expected throughout the day on Friday. High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.

Friday night looks clear with low temperatures between 13 and 18 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Through Sunday: An area of high pressure is expected to bring the entire area lots of sunshine and cold temperatures throughout this weekend.

Saturday looks sunny with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday night is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures near 15 Degrees.

Sunday is expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Monday Through Tuesday: A frontal system is expected to move through the area by Monday night into Tuesday.

Well out in advance of this frontal system, some energy and moisture will traverse the region during Monday. This means that skies will be cloudy throughout the day on Monday and there will be precipitation mostly in the form of rain showers during the day on Monday. That said, some of this precipitation might start out as a mixed bag of snow, sleet and freezing rain showers during Monday morning and this will have to be watched for any travel impacts during Monday morning. High temperatures Monday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Widespread rain showers are then expected throughout Monday night and Tuesday as that frontal boundary moves through the area. Temperatures on Monday night will remain around 40 Degrees. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

Wednesday Through Next Friday & Beyond: It looks like the weather pattern will be pretty active throughout next week. In fact, this active weather pattern might last right up to Christmas. The question then becomes will any storm systems moving through bring us wintry weather or will the precipitation be just rain. While it’s almost impossible to answer that question with any certainty, I will say that the weather pattern does look favorable enough to support at least the chance for snow late next week into next weekend.

For now, I think that Wednesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.

Next Thursday looks cloudy with rain showers expected during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Rain showers then look to continue through next Friday. Temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Next Saturday might see some showers of both rain and snow throughout the day. High temperatures look to be between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Next Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Be aware that next Saturday and next Sunday is still 8 to 9 days away and a lot can and definitely will change with the weather forecast. Given the active weather pattern that’s expected, we are going to have to keep an eye on things for any possible storms next weekend that might bring us actual snow.
