1st Snowfall Of The Season Late Thursday Night & Friday Morning Across Western & Central Mass

The first snowfall of the season may be on tap for late Thursday night and Friday morning. The reason for this is that the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta is expected to push across Southern New England from Thursday afternoon to about Friday morning. The moisture from Zeta is expected to bump up against some colder air pushing down from Canada leading to the possibility for accumulating snow late Thursday night into Friday morning. As of right now, it looks like rain will move in during Thursday afternoon and continue through Thursday evening. A changeover to some snow is looking increasingly more possible after midnight Thursday night. This changeover will occur first across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills around midnight Thursday night and then make it into the lower Pioneer Valley and the Blackstone Valley during the predawn hours of Friday morning. Snow is then expected to continue through Friday morning before ending by Friday afternoon. My first thoughts on possible snow amounts can be found with the map attached to this post.

I am keeping a very close eye on this potential first snowfall & will continue to have updates as needed. Thank you for reading my latest forecast for Western and Central Mass.
