1 To 2 Inches Of Rain Expected Today & Tonight Across Western & Central Mass

A very rainy & cold day is expected across the area as a low pressure tracks near the south coast of New England.

Rain is expected all day today right through all of tonight. Additionally, the rain is expected to be heavy at times throughout this afternoon and this evening. This heavy rain this afternoon and evening will likely cause ponding of water on roads, highways, underpasses and areas of poor drainage. Some urban flooding is possible.

Rainfall totals today through tonight are expected to average between 1 and 2 inches, especially across Central Mass.

It will be cold and windy today with temperatures staying in the mid 40s all day today. In addition, East to Northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph today will add an extra chill to the air.

All-in-all, it will very certainly not feel like late May across the area today.
