Widespread Showers & Scattered Thunderstorms With Heavy Downpours Are Expected Late Tonight Through Thursday Morning Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: Humid weather is expected with temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees across Central Mass and near 85 Degree temperatures expected across Western Mass. Dew point temperatures this afternoon will be in the low 70s. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph.

In terms of cloud cover this afternoon, skies will be mostly cloudy across Central Mass with a mixture of sunshine and clouds across Western Mass.

Some isolated thunderstorms can be expected, especially during the late afternoon hours. Any thunderstorms that do occur will be able to produce some torrential downpours. Most areas, though, will stay dry this afternoon.

Tonight: Cloudy skies are expected with humid conditions. It is anticipated that there will be some widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms overspreading the entire area well after midnight tonight. The thunderstorms that do occur will be capable of producing torrential downpours.

Low temperatures will be between 63 and 68 Degrees. Winds will be variable at 5 mph or less.

Thursday: A stationary frontal boundary is expected to sit right over southern New England throughout the day on Thursday. This front will be the trigger for at least a couple of rounds of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

The first round of widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms looks to occur throughout the morning hours. Any thunderstorms will be capable of producing torrential downpours.

A second round of scattered thunderstorms looks to potentially occur during the late afternoon and evening hours. The combination of the forcing from that stationary front and a unstable air mass due to the warm and humid air mass will lead to the potential for a few of the thunderstorms to be on the strong side. Any strong storms will produce wind gusts of up to 50 mph, frequent lightning and torrential downpours.

High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees across Central Mass and around 80 Degrees across Western Mass where there may be some sunshine at times. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Through Sunday: Cloudy skies with humid conditions are expected on Friday with high temperatures near 80 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

A majority, if not the entire weekend looks dry across the entire area.

Saturday looks cloudy with high temperatures near 80 Degrees and dew point temperatures near 65 Degrees.

Sunday looks cloudy. There is the possibility for some scattered showers and thunderstorms towards evening mostly across Western Mass. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees.
